July 5-July 7 : 9am-11am
In Lego Studio, students will create fantastic art out of those amazing building bricks--LEGO. There will be both structured projects and free builds. Lego Studio uses the familiar play-pattern of building with blocks to teach fundamentals. PAINTING STUDIO
July 10-July 14 : 9am-11am
During Painting Studio, we delve into painting techniques and experiment with tools and materials of our own creation. Students will mix up their own special paints as well as paint on a variety of surfaces. We will explore different ways of applying paint using traditional and non-traditional tools to create portraits, creatures, and abstract pieces. WOOD STUDIO
July 10-July 14 : 1pm-3pm
In this studio focused on wood, students will experiment with wood elements to create sculptures, assemblages, and prints. Students will work three dimensionally to build relief and free standing works, as well as use wood as a tool to create two dimensional pieces. PAPER STUDIO
July 17-July 21 : 9am-11am
Paper has been made for two thousand years out of an amazing variety of sources. We will investigate paper as a medium and as a material exploring its different qualities and attributes through drawing, painting, printmaking, and collage. We'll use papyrus, rice paper, origami, banana, corrugated, vintage, and found papers in our projects. LEGO STUDIO

In Lego Studio, students will create fantastic art, structures, and creatures out of those amazing building bricks--LEGO. We'll start our designs on paper, and then move to 3-D constructions to realize our creative vision. Lego Studio uses the familiar play-pattern of building with blocks to teach fundamentals. FABRIC STUDIO
August 7-August 11 : 9am-11am
Fabric is amazing stuff: we wear it, we sleep in it, we sail with it, and we make art with it. In this class we'll investigate fabric through drawing, collage, painting, and printmaking. Students will work with felt, muslin, canvas, vintage pieces, and even design their own t-shirts. CLAY STUDIO
August 7-August 11 : 1pm-3pm
Think clay is all the same? In Clay Studio we will work with a variety of clays with different properties, like gray, red and modeling. Students will use their hands and tools to manipulate and alter their material. Projects include free standing sculptures and relief works. DRAWING STUDIO
August 21-August 25 : 9am-11am
Drawing Studio is designed for students that love the act of drawing, as well as the drawing tools and materials that go with it. In this class, we will work with a variety of drawing pens, pencils, markers, and inks. Students will also draw on different surfaces, from bristol to boards, to create their original pieces. LEGO STUDIO
August 21-August 25 : 1pm-3pm

Discounts on multiple weeks - $10 per additional studio per child Refund policy: Tuition is refundable only if registration is cancelled before APRIL 1, 2017 (minus $50 non-refundable processing fee for each studio cancelled).
Make-up policy: Due to the nature of our courses and small class size, there are NO MAKE-UPS in Summer Lab classes.
Class cancellation policy: In the event Brooklyn Design Lab cancels your registered class, you will be notified as soon as possible and refunded.
