Dear families, Hootenanny Art House will be continuing the legacy of ART MAKING this Fall at Brooklyn Design Lab! Pete and Kira, in collaboration with current Hootenanny art teacher extraordinaire, Hannah Kasper Levinson are busy designing curriculum for Fall 2018 to include everything from sensory-driven process art for the littlest toddlers, to mobile photography and interior design classes for pre-teens, to drawing and crafting for adults! Hootenanny will venture forward in the Lab space as the "Hootenanny Art Annex." They'd love to hear your ideas, and please sign up to keep in touch with them at their NEW website, and online home for all of their locations, music, events, activism and now more ART! www.hootenannybrooklyn.com.
I have loved all the great years with you guys! Thanks for being part of the lab, creating wonderful work for the window for the neighborhood to see. The Spring session will be the last for 18m-4 year olds and after-school for PreK-grade 5. This summer will be the final farewell for students entering grade K-5. It has been an incredible nine years, and I will miss making art with you! Welcome to Brooklyn Design Lab!
Brooklyn Design Lab offers design and art classes in a studio environment for early childhood (ages 18m-4) and grade school (grades K-6) students. All of our classes are hands-on, process-driven and focused. Students of all ages explore a set of materials, a theme, or an area of study in depth. Class sizes are strictly limited so that students can get the most out of each course, the time spent with their teachers, and their fellow students. BDL values process over product and the fun of creating over all.
Brooklyn Design Lab is located steps from many Park Slope schools in a storefront studio diagonally across from 7th Avenue Union Market.
Classes run throughout the year and are held during the day, after-school, and in the summer.
Our window showcases a selection of student work in rotating mini-exhibitions for the neighborhood to enjoy. We are dedicated to bringing art and design to our children and our community.
We are very excited to get to work!
